Attendance Problems In Other Cities

From Adam Dater of the Denver Post:

Not going to keep beating this horse, but…11,448 last night for the Flames-Avs game, a showdown for first place in the Northwest Division. Folks, what gives? That was on a Family Night deal, too, where tickets and a meal averaged less than $25.

One question I have is: has the advent of HDTV made it less imperative to go to the games? Is the picture so good on TV now that, in effect, teams are hurting themselves by looking so good on TV?

Adam may be on to something here, but obviously this does not apply to the Blue Jackets since half of the games are NOT on HD.  So the Jackets are probably thankful that FSN Ohio is not fan friendly.
