Yeah, I know, Pittsburgh is hungrier this time, they learned a lot from losing to Detroit last year, and the Stillers won the Super Bowl. But everytime a team jumps out at Detroit, Chris Osgood holds the line. (Columbus fans, remember period one of game one?) Everytime an announcer states that Marian Hossa has been quiet, he puts in a couple of goals. Sidney Crosby is good, but he has to get around Niklas Lidstrom. Go into the rosters and tell me about Max Talbot and Chris “Two Hander” Kunitz and I’ll point out Dan Cleary or Valtteri Filppula or Mikael Samuelsson or Derek Meech.
So while Pittsburgh will win a few, maybe even game one or two over a TV schedule challenged tired Wings, the experience, discipline, and overall skill set of Detroit means the Cup stays in their closet.
