From the Toledo Blade:
BOWLING GREEN – Two weeks before the 25th anniversary of Bowling Green State University’s national hockey championship, a firestorm has erupted over the possibility the school is considering eliminating the sport…
Also, from the Sentinel-Tribune:
Bowling Green athletics director Greg Christopher didn’t rule out the possibility of cutting sports Friday morning.
He called the elimination of programs “a last resort, but added it’s way too early to tell if sports will be cut” as rumors continue to swirl the hockey program will be dropped.
The Falcons were one of college hockey’s best programs throughout most of the 1970s and 80s, and won the NCAA championship in 1984.
